CONSCIOUSNESS & WISDOM WATCH · 12 OCTOBER 2026 · 3 MIN READ
Attention.
Different patterns.
Who responds to microdosing? What do brief brain-activity bursts reveal during meditation?
Two preliminary human research updates, with different designs and publication stages.
EMPIRICAL RESEARCH · HUMAN TRIAL REANALYSIS · CONFERENCE REPORT
A possible attention benefit in women
What changed: A new analysis of a completed randomized, double-blind trial reported a possible sex-related pattern. Forty-eight healthy adults, including 24 women, received placebo or four 15 μg LSD doses over two weeks.
Women receiving LSD averaged 308 versus 335 milliseconds on a sustained-attention task and 2.3 versus 4.7 attention lapses. No comparable improvement was observed in men. Information-processing and working-memory findings were less clear-cut.
Evidence strength: preliminary
This is a retrospective analysis of small subgroups, not an independent replication. The release gives no confidence intervals or formal treatment-by-sex interaction statistics. A full journal paper, preregistration of this analysis and independent replication were not verified. The researchers call for larger studies addressing hormonal factors.
Improvement in one subgroup alone does not establish a difference between sexes. Healthy-volunteer task results do not establish ADHD treatment efficacy or general cognitive enhancement.
EMPIRICAL RESEARCH · HUMAN EEG · JOURNAL-ACCEPTED ARTICLE
Brief bursts beyond average rhythms
What changed: The public abstract reports EEG recordings from 29 participants: long-term meditators, short-term meditators and meditation-naïve controls, during seven ordered Heartfulness phases.
Several measures of brief activity bursts showed group-by-phase differences after multiple-testing correction. Average band power did not show the corresponding interaction, and regional heterogeneity was not supported. Background spectral slope also varied by group and phase.
Evidence strength: exploratory
The fixed sequence confounds meditation phase with elapsed time and order. Small groups limit generalisation. The available abstract provides no numerical effect sizes or confidence intervals; preregistration and independent replication were not verified. Acceptance is confirmed; a final publication date was not established in this review.
These associations cannot identify causal effects of individual meditation states or establish a hierarchy of “deeper consciousness.”

AKASHICNET INTERPRETATION · QUESTIONS TO TEST
Measure the difference that matters
The microdosing result is a hypothesis about individual variation for N2N and r/microdosing to follow. The EEG work offers a methodological lead: examine short-lived events and background activity alongside averaged rhythms.
- Does the LSD pattern reproduce in a preregistered study with a formal interaction test, baseline adjustment and hormonal measurements?
- Would meditation EEG patterns persist when phase order is counterbalanced and compared with matched rest and attention tasks?
- Do either set of measurements predict meaningful, lasting changes in everyday functioning or compassionate behaviour?
For BQ011, changes in performance or brain activity and enduring compassionate action are separate outcomes. Neither study establishes an Akashic field, paranormal mechanisms or metaphysical truth. Big Question evidence statuses remain unchanged.
