Love, Wisdom & Collective Flourishing
Cultivating connectedness through care, inquiry and service.
Inspired by Chris Laszlo’s Ervin Laszlo Memorial Lecture on Science and the Akashic Field. Chris is Ervin Laszlo’s son and Emeritus Professor of Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University.

FROM THE PRESENTATION · ATTENDEE-SUPPLIED SLIDE PHOTOGRAPHS
From interconnectedness to the sacred quest
The slides ask what accounts for coherence, relationality and information-rich organisation at different levels of nature. They group puzzles in cosmology, physics, biology and consciousness, then introduce the Akashic Field as a proposed explanatory ground.
Holotropism is described on the slides as the universe’s intrinsic tendency toward wholeness. The accompanying interpretation presents evolution as movement toward complexity and coherence, and coherent systems as attuning their elements to one another and their environment. This is the presentation’s philosophical framing; the photographs do not establish a universal law or a physical field mechanism.
Love and islands of coherence
“Love opens us to connection.”
“Compassion gives love practical expression.”
“Coherent relationships form coherent groups.”
“Small groups can influence larger systems.”
Transcribed from the photographed slide, “Love and Islands of Coherence.” These statements are presentation wording, not independently verified findings from this report.
The sacred quest is presented as conscious participation in movement toward wholeness. Another slide describes living with the planet through reciprocity, compassion and coherence, and invites us to dance consciously with the planet.
Ervin Laszlo: in his own words
“To evolve in harmony, this is a planetary, indeed a cosmic responsibility.”
“We can recognize who we are and can discover how it is best for us to relate to each other on the planet.”
Ervin Laszlo, as quoted on Chris’s photographed “In his own words” slide. The original publication and passage location have not been independently established here.
AKASHICNET REFLECTION · PERSONAL SPIRITUAL MEANING
Love as a path toward enlightenment
“Love is the path to enlightenment.”
This personal epiphany resonates with the lecture’s emphasis on connection expressed as compassion. Here, love means an ongoing practice of listening, care and service. Wisdom asks how to act helpfully, recognise limits, learn from feedback and remain open to correction.
Awaken within • Serve without. The reflection connects inward exploration with outward conduct. Its meaning does not depend on demonstrating psychic abilities or accepting one cosmological account.
Practices of connectedness
Chris’s official abstract names contemplative reflection, deep listening, compassion, gratitude, immersion in nature and service. The photographed practice slide also uses imagery of meditation, planting, writing and movement, alongside the invitation, “Your practice here.”
The outcomes slide lists interconnection, direct-intuitive experiences, listening, trust, a desire to make a difference and pursuit of flourishing. A separate slide associates felt connectedness with care for others and future generations. No study citation, sample, comparison or effect size is visible in these photographs, so these remain reported presentation claims here.
Micro · Meso · Macro
The lecture explicitly uses this vocabulary. It also connects with earlier #METAD discussions, whose scale boundaries developed over time. The following is AkashicNET’s earlier framing, rather than definitions supplied by Chris:
Micro
Cellular and microbiome processes; some earlier #METAD versions also proposed proto-conscious particles or fields.
Meso
Integrated human experience: mind, body, heart and spirit.
Macro
Planetary and ecological relationships; proposed Pachamama/Gaian intelligence remains an interpretation.
The shared question is how organisation and relationships connect scales. Similar vocabulary does not establish a shared mechanism. A useful next question is: which measurable processes connect cellular activity, human experience and planetary relationships?
Finite in form. Open to the infinite.
This is AkashicNET’s poetic reflection, not a quotation from Chris Laszlo or a scientific conclusion.
Dual-aspect approaches consider mind and matter as aspects of one underlying reality. In Spinoza’s account, mind and body are the same finite being understood through different attributes, within infinite Nature. The distinction between mental and physical aspects is separate from the distinction between finite and infinite. This comparison is our philosophical addition to the lecture notes.
Participation in a larger whole does not by itself make an individual literally infinite. “Open to the infinite” expresses openness, relationship and inquiry while leaving the underlying metaphysics unresolved.
Where do siddhis fit?
Our discussion also raised traditional yogic accounts of unusual attainments or capacities. Dual-aspect theory alone does not establish those abilities or explain access to otherwise unavailable information. Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras caution that such attainments can become obstacles to samādhi; verse numbering varies between translations. Compassionate conduct and claims of extraordinary information access require different forms of assessment.
GEOMETRIC REFLECTION · ARTISTIC METAPHOR
A finite form with an endlessly repeatable path
The personal observation was that an “infinite torus” expresses an infinite loop in finite form. More precisely, a torus can have finite dimensions, surface area and enclosed volume, while a path around it can be traversed repeatedly without end.
Finite in form, endless in circulation: the torus as a symbol of continuity and connection.
This is a geometric analogy. A torus and a figure-eight infinity symbol are different shapes, and an endlessly repeated path does not establish infinite consciousness, a memory field or a physical mind–cosmos connection.
QMM, QM & MM: a separate open question
Earlier project discussions distinguished the externally attributed Quantum Memory Matrix (QMM) hypothesis from proposed Quantum Mechanics (QM) and Meaning & Memory (MM) components. Those labels became mixed in some earlier AI-assisted wording. Here they remain distinct.
The lecture photographs do not specify a mechanism that stores thoughts or retrieves memories outside the brain. Connecting a physical information hypothesis with remembered experience would require explicit encoding, persistence, access and testable predictions. No such bridge is established on this page.

Questions to carry forward
- Which findings best support lasting changes in care after connectedness practices?
- What would distinguish an Akashic Field mechanism from psychological, biological and social explanations?
- How could small groups support collective flourishing while welcoming disagreement and protecting individual autonomy?
